Travel Clothes

Shirts, Slacks, Shorts 'n Hats

Having the right travel clothes along will help you save precious packing space and ensure that you'll fit in comfortably with your Mexican hosts.

The first time I traveled to Mexico, I packed a navy blue blazer. I folded it up neatly and spread it across the bottom of my suitcase. And there it stayed for six weeks!

Generally, the dress code is Mexico is "business casual." Mexicans do tend to be more formal, but formal occasions don't necessarily call for the dress up clothes we're accustomed to at home.

For example, for a man a guayabera shirt (the classic Mexican embroidered front shirt) is considered pretty dressy, especially when matched with a nice pair of slacks.
